The Mag Smith frame is constructed from seven 1/4" A36 laser cut parts. The pieces are nested with each other using a series of slots and tabs and then TIG welded together. This produces a strong, compact frame that is square and keeps the dies aligned.

All of the frame parts are cut from 1/4" A36 plate. The laser cut parts provide accurate fit-up and consistent die guide alignment.

A series of plug welds minimizes weld distortion in the die guides yet maintains a strong shear connection. The bottom plate and threaded attachment plug are also TIG welded to the frame after the main die guide body is complete.

All aspects of the Mag Smith product line are given a high level of attention to detail. From cleaning the parts before welding, to making sure every edge is burr-free before delivery. Quality will be recognized as you open the box.
This is a quick time lapse video of me assembling a Mag Smith frame around a solid piece of 3/4" x 1-1/2" bar stock and tack welding the die guide plates to the side plates
